As President of A+ Education Partnership, Mark Dixon strives to improve the outcomes for Alabama students by working with elected and appointed officials to promote policies improving public education. A+ also maintains two programs, A+ College Ready and the Alabama Best Practices Center, to build the capacity of teachers and school leaders.
A Birmingham native, Mark spent five years as Education Policy Advisor to Alabama Governor Bob Riley and later as Policy Director. He then moved to Washington, D.C. to pursue his MBA in Strategic Management and Public Policy from The George Washington University School of Business. While in school, he held an Education Pioneers Fellowship with Teach for America where he continued his pursuit of education reform.
