The first initiative of the committee was to develop the first class of Diversity Ambassadors. This program enables each Diversity Ambassador to create an environment that encourages more natural engagement, integrates a culture of inclusion and respect, and serves as a structure for organizations (including employers) who are looking for ways to enhance their diversity, equity, and inclusion efforts. The Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Program consists of several panel discussions with esteemed speakers in a smaller setting in order to encourage open conversations. In addition to the panel discussions, smaller learn, socialize, and serve events will be included. After completing the Diversity Equity & Inclusion Program, ambassadors will be able to share what they’ve learned to make a change in the Club and in their community and will earn a Certificate of Completion in recognition of their growth and professional development.

Below are a few of our goals for DE&I as listed in the Rotaract Strategic Plan in the upcoming years:
- Develop, publish and promote an inclusion pledge which includes the Rotary Four-Way Test.
- Explore opportunities to support and expose members to minority-owned business through our “Learn” and “Social” program offerings.
-
Utilize a business and/or vendor distinguished or self-identified as “Minority-owned” ( owned by a member of a historically or presently under-represented minority group in the United States) for Learn programming and/or social events. At least three minority businesses and/or vendors should be utilized by the Club every Rotary Year within the Programming and/or Social Committees programs, projects, or initiatives.
